SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 45

Recognizing Karl C. Lilly III, Assistant Clerk of the Senate, for
his accomplishments in the American Society of Legislative
Clerks and Secretaries.
Whereas, Karl C. Lilly III joined the staff of the West
Virginia Senate in 1976 as Assistant Clerk of the Senate; and
Whereas, During his tenure in the Senate, Karl C. Lilly III
has become actively involved in the American Society of Legislative
Clerks and Secretaries as an associate member; and
Whereas, In 1998, the American Society of Legislative Clerks
and Secretaries recognized Karl C. Lilly III by honoring him with
the Distinguished Service Award for Associates; and
Whereas, In 1999, Karl C. Lilly III was again recognized by
the American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries and was
awarded the Legislative Staff Achievement Award; and
Whereas, The long-time service of Karl C. Lilly III to the American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries has earned
him the respect of the members of the Society, who elected him to
serve as Associate Vice President of the American Society of
Legislative Clerks and Secretaries for the year 2000, the highest
rank an associate member can achieve in the Society; therefore, be
it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby acknowledges with pride the recognition
that has been bestowed upon Karl C. Lilly III by the American
Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate hereby congratulates Karl C.
Lilly III on his election as the Associate Vice President of the
American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries for the year
2000; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate hereby extends its sincere
appreciation to Karl C. Lilly III, Assistant Clerk of the Senate,
for his many years of dedicated service to the Senate; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to Karl C. Lilly III, Assistant Clerk of
the Senate and Associate Vice President of the American Society of
Legislative Clerks and Secretaries.
